“Dagmar and Seductones
Sur La Route de Memphis
No. 77 (Winter 2004-05)

Who Are They?
A Rockabilly group formed around Andrea Dagmar Brown which brings together veteran greybeards who were harnessed behind Billy Hancock and Tex Rubinowitz.

Where do they come from?
From the flourishing rockabilly/alternative country scene of Washington DC.

What do they play?
Mostly rockabilly with great versions of 'Red Hot' (very savage!) and 'Let's Have A Party' (slower than the Wanda Jackson version) but they include their own songs with originals like the excellent 'Little Bitta Love' or the bluesy 'Livin' A Lie.' Other pieces will make you think of 'Fever' ('Evil') or 'Everyday' ('Lucky Stars'). And there are a few medium ballads and a little country pop from the '60's for good measure. Good debut but a more pronounced rockabilly accent would have been ideal.”
